I've spent the last decade photographing hundreds of weddings. I've also spent the last decade enduring an immense amount of loss. What I have left of my family now lives in memory and in photo albums on my shelves, and with every loss my reason for photographing weddings has evolved into a unique understanding of what these images truly mean.
With time, photographs become the inheritance of love — carrying proof of who we were and how we lived. Life, like your wedding day, is fleeting, and its impermanence makes it all the more beautiful. You get one single day to record your beginning. That is what I create for every couple I photograph: a beginning full of images that evoke euphoria and nostalgia, that hold the weight of your story, the faces of your loved ones, and the legacy you'll leave behind when it's your turn to be missed.
